The following are the components for a 1999 Honda Civic sedan
economical yet powerful car audio system configuration.

Speakers

• Kenwood KAC-529S 250W (max) 2-channel bridgeable amplifier ($80 on clearance)
  

Enclosure

• Fiberboard ($1.01 from home depot, look for a less-than-perfect 2x4 of MDF)
• Wood glue $5 (Liquid Nails)
• Silicone sealant $3
• Nails/screws for enclosure $3
• Grille and brackets $15

Wiring, etc

• High-to-low converter (optional if your amp has speaker-level inputs) ($24)
• RCA cables ($3)
• 16-gague wire for subwoofer and amp power signal ($3)
• 8-gague wire for power and ground ($35)
• 18-gague wire for front and rear speakers (included with speakers)
• Wire covers ($3)
• Honda speaker wire harness adapters (to avoid cutting wires, optional) ($7.50)

Specifications:
Peak combined speaker output capability: 140Wx2 + 200Wx2 + 700Wx1 = 1380W non-RMS
Nominal combined speaker output capability: 35Wx2 + 40Wx2 + 250Wx1 = 400W continuous RMS power
Peak power source output: 80 radio (20Wx4) + 250W amp = 330W non-RMS
Total power output: 80W radio (20Wx4) + 120W bridged amp (120Wx1) = 200W continuous RMS power
